LISTSERV LAUNCHED ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 07, 2002
Our choir-wide listserv enables our organization to submit e-mails to the entire parental body and all members at one time. All choir members are automatically added to the listserv and registered as authorized users. When anyone desires to send an e-mail, you type it to one address, and it is sent to the entire choir (like a network). Members can also individually change their e-mails at any given time by visiting the website for the listserv. One other great feature of this site, is that you can go back and look at old messages at any given time (in other words, if you delete your message accidentally, just go to the website and look at the archive of older messages). Lastly, it enables us to take the list of e-mails out of the area that is currently open to the general public and place it only in the listserv roster (available only to other choir members).
All new members of the choir should receive a subscription confirmation email stating that you have been subscribed as a member to the listserv. It will also contain information about the listserv itself. If you did not receive that email for some reason, or think you may have been omitted by accident, please visit: http://lists.ibiblio.org/mailman/listinfo/ncboyschoir, go down to the "subscribing to ncboyschoir" section, submit your e-mail address, and choose a password. This process will greatly simplify how information is distributed to the choir as a whole. If you have specific questions about using the new listserv, please feel free to e-mail me.
